The Rodent-Hunting Cats of Disneyland

When you go to Disneyland, the Cheshire Cat isn't the only feline around. In the park there are approximately 200 feral cats that hunt rodents. Watch out Mickey Mouse!

Mayor Cat

In 1997, the small town of Talkeetna, AK elected a cat, Stubbs, as their mayor. Stubbs served for the next twenty years, albeit he was rather indifferent to his workload. Stubbs even survived an attempt on his life by a local dog, recovering from the attack within a couple of weeks to resume his duties.

Most Cats Aren't Crazy about Catnip

More than 50% of cats don't exhibit a response to catnip. It's not well understood why some cats go wild for catnip and others couldn't care less about it. However, there does seem to be a strong hereditary link to love of catnip.

In Austin, TX, a beloved cat named Creme Puff lived to be just over 38 years old, making her the oldest documented cat on record. Creme Puff's dad fed her a wholesome diet that included turkey bacon, broccoli, eggs--and the occasional bit of coffee with cream.
